To love is to lyssten, and to lyssten to Be The Lion, is to remember how to love yourself.
When I first went through Wayland's catalogue of unreleased music two years ago, I knew I would find magic, but I didn't know what type of transformation I would embark on when finding Be The Lion. I've waited over two years to make the announcement I did this morning: that we would finally be releasing my favorite song on August 8, 2020.
A lion symbolizes courage, strength, and justice, and is the only cat to travel in a pride. Lions are a social species, just like we are, and when we find ourselves in a lockdown'ed isolation unsure of when we'll gather together for work, let alone a concert, even the King Of The Jungle can forget his power and feel like he's locked in a cage at the zoo.
BUT-- even a caged lion can hear the roar of another and instantly remember who he really is.
To "BE" the lion is to lyssten to your own heart once and for all.
"Once and for all" means when you lyssten to your own heart even just once, you're doing it for the benefit of all.
This morning Phillip sent .wav files of "Be The Lion" to radio program directors across the country in preparation for the release, and one particular PD, Lee McVey from KOZE in Lewiston Idaho said, "It hits a mainstream emotional cord...Can’t you hear that chorus playing during a Disney movie where the hero finally is triumphant? At the same time... I can see dudes in black t shirts singing it back to the stage."
The Disney reference reminded me of Mufasa, when he tells Simba, "being brave doesn't mean you go looking for trouble."
Being fearlyss doesn't mean that you put yourself in dangerous, unsafe, or unhealthy situations.
Being fearlyss doesn't mean you think only about yourself.
Being fearlyss doesn't mean you react, ignore your heart or your gut instincts.
Being fearlyss happens when you be the lion:
You trust yourself and lyssten to your body.
You use your response- ability to act in service for the one (you), and for the all, (us.)
Your mind talks but your heart lysstens. Your heart has the wisdom. Your heart has the power. Your heart protects the pride.
Be The Lion releases Lions Gate: August 8, 2020. I can't wait for you to lyssten.
